About I Must Be BUG'N

Hosted by Sheldon Gay

Does the world sometimes seem to move at a different pace for you? Do you find yourself noticing what everyone else seems to overlook? Have you been teased, shamed, or misunderstood for not conforming to what’s considered “normal”? Have you had to fight for accommodations or understanding that others seem to receive without asking?

You might be BUG’N: Black Underrepresented/Unidentified Gifted and otherwise Neurodivergent.

I Must Be BUG’N is a podcast about the many ways we experience the world, especially the experiences of Black gifted and otherwise neurodivergent people who have too often gone unidentified, misunderstood, or overlooked.

Through honest conversations, personal stories, and fresh perspectives, we explore what it means to think differently, navigate a world that doesn’t always make room for us, and find community without having to shrink or explain ourselves.

This is a space for neurodivergent people, especially those from underrepresented communities and those whose differences have gone unrecognized. Together, we challenge the idea that there’s only one right way to think, learn, communicate, or be.

Because neurodivergence isn’t a deficiency to fix. It’s part of the diversity of the human experience. And nobody should have to choose between being understood and being themselves.
